Your child's oral health

If you have a dental problem you should, in the first instance always phone the dental practice that you normally attend.

If you are not registered with any dental practice then your nearest dental practice will still be able to help.

Keeping your children's teeth healthy will help them to maintain clean and healthy teeth and gums and develop good oral hygiene habits they will need throughout the rest of their lives. Remember the most important thing is brushing at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.

A healthy and balanced diet is also important for every aspect of children’s health, including the health of their teeth.

Sometimes cost can be a barrier to eating healthily – a range of help to support children and families with the cost of living is available from the Scottish Government.
